It’s that time of the year! It’s spooky season!
At Corrugated Case Company, we love and respect all of the amazing traditions different cultures have, and as a tribute we’ve designed and printed some cardboard boxes that are influenced by these traditions.
In the United States, it’s a time for the pumpkin-spiced lattes, scary decorations and trick-or-treating. It is a seasonal holiday that is enjoyed by all ages, from parents to their children. Whether it’s scaring each other or just enjoying the Autumnal season with your family, Halloween represents the halfway point where the leaves on the trees have just started to fall and you have finally started wearing your winter jackets.
In Mexico, it commences their yearly celebrations for Día de Muertos or Día de los Muertos, which translates to the “Day of the Dead”; a cultural tradition dating back to 2500-3000 years ago. Typically, the celebrations span over 3 days, celebrating the “Lady of the Dead”, the “Days of the Little Angels” and the “Day of the Dead” itself. Each day focusing on creating altars and offerings for the spirits of the dead to be closer to their loved ones on their respective days.
In the Philippines, there is a similar tradition called Pangangaluwa, which translates to “Souling”. This is where children in towns visit local houses to pray for those who are stuck in purgatory. More recently, the tradition is being slowly replaced by mainstream trick-or-treating. But there are some people determined to bring this cultural piece of history into the foreground, ensuring that the custom doesn’t die out or get forgotten.
Halloween isn’t always about gore, jump scares and commercialism. It is more interesting than that and we wanted to share some of the lesser-known aspects of this fantastic time of year.
On this note, we wanted to let you know that this is a busy time of the year for Corrugated Case Company and we are expecting to see our lead times increase from 5-7 working days to 7-10 working days. We know this can be a little scary. However, we are here to ensure that your orders make their way to you on time. At Corrugated Case Company, we are busy but we won’t stop there. We’ll continue to innovate, push barriers and offer the best service to you; our customers, because as we mentioned at the start, to stand still is to go backwards.
