Corrugated Case become proud Mental Health First Aiders
At the Corrugated Case Company, we continually strive to improve our working environment, especially when it comes to protective our employees’ wellbeing.
In a survey conducted by MHFA England, it was revealed that 60% of employees would feel more motivated and more likely to recommend their organisation as a good place to work if their employer took action to support mental health and wellbeing.
In May 2021, our Sales Manager Melissa Wilcockson, and Junior Designer Katie Galley, attended a 4-day virtual Mental Health First Aid Course.
The Mental Health First Aid course sees participants gain an in-depth understanding of mental health and different factors that can affect an individual’s wellbeing.
The course also equips first aiders with the knowledge and confidence to identify the signs of mental health issues, and offer support to those who need it, without judgement.
As an employer, it is essential to be able to provide each employee with dedicated time and consideration, especially when it comes to protecting their mental health.
Our Sales Manager, Melissa, spoke of her experience after attending the course:
“The course was extremely informative, enlightening and educational. Whilst it was a very intense course with deep subject matter, I found it very eye opening and I have definitely learnt new methods to manage mental health.”
“The course was specifically targeted at handling mental health, particularly in the workplace, and that was clear throughout the course. Myself and Katie have come away and already implemented some new practices at CCC as a result. I would 100% recommend the course.”
Poor mental health management costs UK employers up to £45 billion every year, and 1 in 6 working-age adults have symptoms associated with mental ill health, which is why it’s so important to adopt initiatives designed to support those experiencing problems.
